Fire guts Karmo market in Abuja

A night fire has gutted Karmo market in Abuja on Tuesday, affecting three parts of the facility.

A witness, Ibrahim Shekarau, said the fire emanated from a power generating set of a textile shop owner who was off loading goods into his shop around 8 pm on Tuesday,

He said the generating set was engulfed in flames which escalated to other shops before its was put off by firefighters around 9:30pm.

Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council AMAC, Abdullahi Adamu Candido, has visited and sympathised with the shop owners.
