4 family members die of food poisoning in Kwara

The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has confirmed the deaths of four members of a family as a result of food poisoning.

The incident is coming about a month after 11 members of the same family died of a similar situation after taking a concoction.

The latest incident happened at Olori village in Banni community, Kwara North Senatorial District of Kwara State.

According to the NSCDC spokesman, Babawale Afolabi: “We received an informatio­n about the deaths of two children of Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar of Olori village, Banni community of Kwara North; Umar Mohammed (25) and Kadir Mohammed (18).

“They started vomiting around 4.am on Thursday and were rushed to the hospital in Igbeti, Oyo State.

“They were confirmed to poisonous food.

“After few minutes, the two died in the hospital, but as the family members were preparing to bury their corpses, one of the grandsons of Abubakar, Umar Mohammed, also died. We were also told that another grandson, Bashiru Mohammed, was rushed to another hospital, and on getting there, he was also confirmed dead.” tested have
