One killed as trailers, revenue collectors clash in Anambra
One person has been killed in a clash between truck drivers and revenue collectors in Anambra State.
The incident happened in Ogidi town, Idemili North Local Government Area of the state along Onitsha-Enugu Expressway on Tuesday.
It was gathered that trouble started at about 6:30 am when a truck driver was stopped by a revenue collector and an argument ensued.
The brawl escalated, resulting in the use of lethal weapons. A truck driver was killed in the clash.
The truck drivers blocked the Onitsha-Awka-Enugu expressway to protest the death of their colleague.
Confirming the incident, Anambra Police Public Relations Officer, Tochukwu Ikenga, said calm has been restored to the area while investigation was ongoing.
