200-level student killed in Bayelsa

A 200-level student of the Niger Delta University (NDU), Amassoma, Bayelsa State, Miss Jennifer Ugadu, has been stabbed to death.

Residents said the undergraduate was found dead with multiple injuries in her room around the University host community in Amassoma on Tuesday morning.

Police authorities in Bayelsa State confirmed the incident, saying the undergraduate was shot by her boyfriend, one Mr James Matol, who is allegedly a member of the Nigerian Army.

Asinim Butswat, the police spokesman in the state, said in a statement that investigation is ongoing on the incident.
