Runsewe lauds Osun gov for declaring Adire Day

- By Maureen Onochie

Director-General, National Council for Arts and Culture, Otunba Segun Runsewe yesterday commended Osun State Governor Gboyega Oyetola for declaring August 27th of every year Osun Adire for all workers in the state.

Oyetola had made the declaration in Osogbo on Saturday at the Osun Fashion

Week, making it compulsory for all public and civil servants in the state to wear the state’s variant of local adire fabric, known as “Adire Eleko” to their offices on that day as a way of reviving the dying cultural fashion of the people.

Runsewe noted that this was in line with the vision and aspirations of the Federal Government to grow and focus on indigenous cultural tourism engagements.
