Bandits kill one, abduct 7 in Kaduna

Armed bandits have killed one person and abducted seven others at Birnin Gwari Local Government of Kaduna State.

The incident happened at Anguwar Gajere village under Kutemashi Ward of the LGA on Saturday.

It was gathered that the bandits also rustled over 50 cattle from the village.

A resident, Mohammed Birnin Gwari, told Daily Trust via telephone that the bandits arrived on motorcycles around 1 pm in the afternoon.

“Three women, four men and a number of cattle were rustled by the bandits after killing one person,” he said.

A former councillor in the area, Adamu Kutemashi confirmed the incident to Daily Trust.

Contacted, the spokesperson for the state police command, Jalige Mohammed, declined comment.

Mohammed said he needed to get details from the area before commenting.
