Security operatives kill 27-year-old woman in Ebonyi

Condemnations have trailed the killing of 27-year-old Elizabeth Agwu on Wednesday night by suspected security operatives in Ebonyi State.

South East Trust gathered that the incident happened at Enuagu Onicha Igboeze in Onicha Local Government Area of the state. The deceased is the sister to the state correspondent of the Daily Sun newspaper, Chijoke Agwu.

An eyewitness, who doesn’t want his name to be mentioned, told our correspondent that the deceased was selling fruits at the junction when she was hit by a stray bullet.

However, it is unclear if she was killed by operatives of Ebubagu Security Outfit or policemen.

The Public Relations Officer of Ebonyi State Police Command, DSP Loveth Odah, condemned the incident in a brief condolence message on his Whatsapp while appealing to Agwu to take heart.

“This is very sad and unacceptable. I have informed the police uthority of your complaint and we are seriously on it to unravel the team that exhibited this unprofessional conduct,” she explained.
