Son beats dad to death in Lokoja
A21-year-old Muhammed has beaten septuagenarian father, Ibrahim Yusuf, to death.
The suspect was said to have been alone with the father when he committed the crime at the St Mary’s Primary School area of Lokoja, capital of Kogi State, on Wednesday night.
A neighbour in the same compound, Miss Nana Bello, said Muhammed had been misbehaving since Wednesday morning which made neighbours to urge his father to report him to the police and get him arrested to avoid problems. man, Yusuf,

She said Muhammed, a Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) holder who refused to further his education despite effort by his father was suspected to be into drugs.
Miss Nana explained that on the day of the incident she came back from work around 10pm. “When I came home, I knocked the gate and nobody opened it. I then opened it with a spare key and shouted as usual, ‘Baba’. Muhammed answered from Baba’s room that baba was not around. I became suspicious and called my fiance.
“We called Baba’s phone number but it was switched off. We rushed and lodged a complaint at the police station and policemen followed us to the house.
“When we entered the room Baba was lying in a pool of blood but breathing. We rushed him to the hospital. This morning, we heard the news that Baba is dead.”
Confirming the incident, the police spokesman in the state, DSP Williams Aya (DSP), said the suspect had been arrested.
