4 kidnappers, robbers nabbed with human skulls

The Kogi State Police Command said it has arrested four suspected kidnappers and armed robbers terrorisin­g the residents of Bassa Local Government Area and its environs.

A statement by the command’s spokespers­on, DSP William Ayah, said arms and ammunition were recovered from the suspected criminals, which include one locallymad­e pistol, one 7.62mm ammunition, one cartridge, one G3 ammunition and two human skulls.

“Following credible intelligen­ce that suspected kidnappers/armed robbers who have been terrorisin­g Bassa Local Government and its environs were sighted in a compound, new Jerusalem Oguma area in Bassa, Operatives of the Nigeria Police

Force attached to Bassa Division led by the DPO promptly swung into action.”

“They stormed the compound and arrested the following suspects; Guda Dangana, Dogo Chure, Dekina Zhiya, Samson Nyizo, all from Bassa Local Government.” the statement said.

The statement further stressed that the suspects have made a useful confession on a series of criminal activities within the Bassa axis and would be arraigned in court on completion of the investigat­ion.

“The Commission­er of Police, CP Idrisu Dauda Dabban, while commending the prompt response of the officers, assured members of the public that Kogi State Police Command in collaborat­ion with other security agencies in the state will not rest on its oars on the sworn onslaught against criminalit­y in the state,” it added.
