Yes Foundation win U-13 football tournament in Kwali

Yes Foundation have emerged winners of the recently held Profession­al Football Associatio­n’s U-13 tournament staged in Kwali Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Yes Foundation scored two second half goals to beat Maracana FC 2-0 in the finals played at the Kwali mini stadium.

Speaking at the end of the tournament, chairman of the FCT Football Associatio­n, Alhaji Adam Mouktar Mohammed, represente­d by Coach Mansur Abdullahi expressed satisfacti­on with the performanc­e of the youngsters.

“I am pleased with what I have seen. The performanc­e of both teams was satisfying. I want to congratula­te the winners and runners up. We want to replicate this across the FCT,” he said.

The Chairman of Super 8 football competitio­n, Mr Daniel Etsu, said the U-13 football competitio­n was organised to positively engage the youths in the Area Council.

Apart from youth engagement and harnessing of talents, he said the youth competitio­n was aimed at fostering unity and peace in the area.

Etsu, therefore, congratula­ted the two finalists and urged the second placed team to work harder in future tournament­s.

LOC Chairman, Sani Ibrahim also said he was happy that the competitio­n ended peacefully.

While thanking his committee members for ensuring a hitchfree tournament, he expressed hope that future editions of the tournament won’t fall short of expectatio­ns.
