- From Mumini AbdulKareem, Ilorin

A 22-year-old final year student of the Bayero University, Kano (BUK), Miss Kaosara Abdulrasaq, and her 19-year-old sister, a 300-level student of the Air Force Institute of Technology, Kaduna, Sakirat Abdulrasaq, who were abducted on March 15, 2022, have regained their freedom from their abductors after a N3 million ransom was paid.

It was learnt that their abductors had earlier contacted their family and demanded N10m, which made the family to solicit donations from mosques and their community in Ilorin, Kwara State.

A family source confirmed to our correspondent that N3m was later paid, in addition to two phones and a motorcycle.

The source said the victims were released on April 29, 2022, after spending 45 days in captivity.
