Release captives, reps minority caucus tells terrorists

- By Balarabe Alkassim

The minority caucus in the House of Representatives yesterday urged terrorists to use the occasion of the Eidel-Fitr as a turning point, desist from violent activities and unconditionally free their captives.

Minority Leader, Ndudi Elumelu (PDP, Delta), made the call in a statement to felicitate with Muslims on the celebration of Eid-El-Fitr.

He urged Nigerians, especially leaders, to apply the blessings and lessons of Ramadan in the pursuit of peace and exercise of love, humility, honesty, tolerance, truthfulness, transparency and self-control in all their dealings.

He also asked citizens not to lose hope in the nation because of the hardship “they currently face as a result of the misrule of the present administration but remain optimistic as they await the answer in a democratic change of leadership in 2023.”

He stated: “The time has therefore come for us as a people to redefine ourselves along the line of such virtues as that is the only way we can pull our dear nation out of the woods and return her to the path of peace, justice, equity, political stability and economic prosperity”.
