Security: Be vigilant, APC nat’l chair urges Nigerians

- From Umar Muhammed, Lafia

The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu, has asked Nigerians to be vigilant and security conscious.

The three-time senator who represented Nasarawa West stated this after a courtesy visit to the Emir of Keffi, Dr Shehu Chindo-Yamusa, at his place.

The former governor of the state called on Nigerians to put behind their differences, be law abiding and love themselves irrespective of religious, tribal or political differences.

He congratulated Muslims for the completion of the 30 days of Ramadan fast and celebration of the Eid elFitr.

He said, “We have the responsibility as a government to take care of the citizenry’s security, but security is everybody’s business.

“If anyone is doing anything wrong, you have the responsibility to report to the nearest authority. If you keep quiet, you are endangering the peace and tranquility of the country and your family.

“You allow one little thing to happen and you don’t know how it will go. So everyone should see himself or herself as the agent of security in this country.”

Earlier, the emir thanked his subjects and the entire Keffi Emirate and Muslims across the nation for the successful completion of the Ramadan fast.

He urged Nigerians to be proactive and mindful of the security situation and their involvement in political participation in the forthcoming 2023 general elections, while admonishing farmers to go to their farms since the rainy season had begun.
