Ekiti ‘rapture’ pastor under investigation - Police

- From Raphael Ogbonnaiye, Ado-Ekiti

Noah Abraham, a pastor who told his church members to pay N310,000 each as transport fare to where the gate of heaven would be opened on the day of rapture, is under investigation by the Ekiti State Police Command.

The police spokesman in the state, ASP Sunday Abutu, said the command was aware of the “disturbing incident”, hence that they invited the cleric.

ASP Abutu said, “The pastor of the church known as Royal Christ Assembly located in Omuo-Ekiti, Ekiti East LGA, was said to have ordered his members to relocate to Omuo-Ekiti and pay N310,000 each to be able to have access to heaven at the end of the world.

“Further investigation revealed that he told his church members that they would all ascend to heaven together from a location in Ekiti State.”
