‘How Iorfa is motivating Lobi Stars players’
A retired football referee and football administrator, Mr. Harry Yachi has commended Lobi Stars Vice-chairman, Dominic Iorfa, for doing so much in less than a month to motivate players of the club in the battle against relegation.
On March 21, the former Nigerian international was reappointed Lobi Stars Chief Executive Officer (CEO) following the resignation of his predecessor, Tama Aondofa who had to throw in the towel after strings of poor results that left the club in relegation waters.
Therefore, the new management under Iorfa which took charge at the beginning of the second round of the 2022 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season is said to be doing everything humanly possible to keep Lobi Stars in the topflight.
As a result, Lobi Stars have moved from the 19th position where they were when Iorfa took over to 17th on the table and are hoping to climb higher with another home victory against Katsina United on Sunday.
While reacting to the new found spirit in the camp of the club, Yachi said Iorfa has brought his wealth of experience as an astute football administrator to bear on the club.
He said “In less than one month, Iorfa has restored match bonuses and increased players travelling allowances by one hundred percent. He has also produced training kits and jerseys in the club’s traditional colours, commenced renovation of Lobi Stars McCarthy camp, repaired the club’s abandoned buses and set up a canteen for the players.
“More importantly, Iorfa has fixed the hitherto strained relationship between the club and the NFF, Nigerian referees and other relevant football stakeholders.”
Yachi, therefore, called on football stakeholders in Benue to join hands with the present management of Lobi Stars in the fight against relegation.
