2023 elections: Caution your children against thuggery - Emir tells women
The Emir of Zazzau, HRH, Alhaji Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, has urged women to caution their children against involving themselves in political thuggery as the 2023 general elections draw nearer.
He also warned them to monitor their activities during campaigns to guide them against violence.
The emir gave the warning while distributing relief materials provided by the Jagaban Matan Zazzau, Hajiya Maryam Abdullahi Aliyu, to 634 less privileged women at his palace in Zaria, noting that the call became imperative in view of the present insecurity in the country.
While appreciating the philanthropic gesture of one of his traditional title holders, the emir urged sons and daughters of the emirate to emulate the gesture so as to improve the socioeconomic status of women in the domain.
He described women as the bedrock of society who needed constant assistance to enable them to cater for their children.
Earlier, Hajiya Maryam said the effort was aimed at improving the lot of the women, as well as answering the call of the emir in assisting the needy.
Items distributed included wrappers and cash.
