Man arraigned for wearing military T-shirt
A man, Victor Memga, was on Monday arraigned in an area court in Makurdi, Benue State, for wearing a military T-shirt.
The prosecutor, Insp Veronica Shaagee, told the court that the case was transferred from the headquarters of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), Makurdi, to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) on May 5.
She told the court that on May 3, a patrol team in Zaki-Biam, Ukum LGA, arrested Memga for wearing a military T-shirt.
She said the offence contravened Section 135 of the Penal Code of Benue 2004.
The defendant pleaded not guilty.
The Magistrate, Mrs Dooshima Ikpambese, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N50, 000 and one reliable surety in like sum and adjourned the case to June 30. (NAN)
