Badaru asks appointees eyeing elective positions to resign

Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State has directed all political appointees and civil servants who are interested in contesting for elective positions to resign their appointmen­ts latest by Monday next week.

The Commission­er for informatio­n, Youths, Sports and Culture, Bala Ibrahim, said the governor gave the directive at the state’s executive council meeting yesterday.

So far, only the Commission­er for Finance and Economic Planning, Babangida Umar Gantsa, has picked forms to contest Birnin Kudu/Buji Federal Constituen­cy seat at the House of Representa­tives.
