A former Minister of Information, under the late Gen. Sani Abacha regime, Chief Ikeobasi Mokelu, has picked the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential expression of interest and nomination forms.

A spokesman for Mokelu’s Campaign Organisation, Timothy Amah, expressed confidence that the former minister would emerge as the candidate of the party during the primary ‘because of his experience.

Similarly, the sole presidential aspirant of Labour Party, Hon. Sampson Uchenna Charles, has submitted his expression and nomination forms at the headquarters of the party in Abuja. Charles promised to radically transform the nation’s security architecture and settle all labour disputes.

The Deputy National Youth Leader of the Sampson Uchenna Charles Campaign Organisation, Aminu Bello, submitted the forms on behalf of the aspirant to the party’s national chairman, Barrister Julius Abure.

Abure assured that there would be a levelplaying field in the party’s primaries and that all aspirants for various positions would be treated equally.

Meanwhile, a 45-year-old female presidential aspirant of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), Mrs Ruby Isaac Chinenye, has unveiled a 50-year roadmap to take Nigeria out of the many challenges confronting it.

Mrs Chinenye, a financial expert, also promised to use her profession to bring the country out of its huge foreign debts.

She spoke yesterday in Abuja at her official declaration to contest the 2023 presidential election.

She said, “We will make every Nigerian a stakeholder. The best way out of any problem is tackling it from the source. If we tackle the source of anything that would lead to borrowing, we will take care of other issues one after another.”

The presidential hopeful also said she would make the issue of security of lives and property a priority.
