Kwara cult clash: Police arrest 3, recover ammunition

Following the bloody clashes between two rival cult groups on the eve of Eid el-Fitr in some parts of Ilorin, Kwara State, which claimed three lives, the police said they have arrested three suspects.

Speaking with City & Crime, the police spokespers­on nin the state, Ajayi Okasanmi, said the three suspects arrested in different parts of the city were undergoing interrogat­ion.

He said, “We also recovered weapons, including guns from them. They are currently helping our operatives on how to arrest others.

Man held over death of co-worker

The police in Lagos State have arrested a 20-year old-man, simply identified as Mike, over the death of his co-worker during brawl, also simply identified as Joshua.

The suspect was said to have stabbed his co-worker on the neck during a brawl following an argument.

It was further learnt that both the suspect and the deceased work at a car wash in Abesan Estate, Ipaja.

A witness, identified as Ayo, said Mike stabbed Joshua on the neck which led to his death as a result of excessive bleeding.

The police spokesman in the state, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said the suspect was in custody undergoing interrogat­ion.
