Trust, said the car owner, a KIA KS with registration number, DAL 358 PE, was identified as one Alhaji Mukhjtar (52) and that investigation had commenced.
He noted that the Commissioner of Police, Samaila Shuaibu Dikko, had ordered that the case be transferred to the state CID.
Daily Trust gathered that a car rammed into a group of Sallah spectators on Wednesday, May 4, in Kano metropolis, killed one Zahraddeen Sani Danazumi (32) and injured others.
A video of the incident went viral showing the car heading towards the group and later speeding away.
When Daily Trust visited the Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital, it was found that the victims were taken there and some were already treated and discharged while others were still receiving treatment.
The father of the deceased said he received the news of the death of his son who got married 53 days ago from his friend.
He said, “My best friend called me that I should come to the Murtala Muhammed hospital; that my son had an accident. As we entered the place his brother came out crying and told me he was dead.”
He added that, “We want our rights, honestly, because it is intentional. He killed people and ran away without showing any concern.”
