Kaduna’s 7,600 newly recruited teachers get posting letters

- From Mohammed I. Yaba, Kaduna

After 10 months of waiting, 7,600 newly recruited secondary school teachers in Kaduna State have received their posting letters.

Daily Trust reported last month how the new teachers were abandoned for nine months after receiving their employment letters with no posting letters and salaries despite completing their documentation.

It was gathered that the new teachers were asked to check into the portal of the teaching board to print their posting letters.

One of the teachers who identified himself as Abu Hanifa said he had already submitted his assumption of duty letter to the teaching service board.

He said, “We appreciate your organisation’s (Daily Trust) report about our predicament which led to these postings. I have been posted to a secondary school in Igabi Local Government Area of the state.”

According to him, his friends too have been posted to various schools within the state, including Southern Kaduna.

Another teacher who also identified himself simply as Yomi said he had been posted to Lere Local Government Area.

Yomi said, “I was happy when we got the news that we should check the teaching service board’s portal for our posting letters.”

Daily Trust obtained the letter issued by the Management of Kaduna Teachers’ Service Board (KSTSB) dated May 17, titled: “Posting Notification”, which directed the teachers to check their portal for their postings.

The letter reads in part: “This is to inform all the newly recruited teachers for secondary schools in

Kaduna State that their postings have been released. They are, therefore, advised to log onto their dashboards using their TSB file number and phone number to download their posting letters.

“Those who are yet to complete their documentation may experience difficulty downloading their postings letters. Such teachers are advised to contact the Teachers’ Service Board immediately for assistance please.”
