VP Osinbajo, Gov Obaseki’s remarks on NAGIS timely - DG
Mr. Sonny Agassi, Director General of Nasarawa Geographic Information System, (NAGIS) has disclosed that the assessment of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on the land administration reform in Nasarawa State is timely.
He made the disclosure after the twoday Nasarawa Investment Summit 2022 with the theme, “Nasarawa Diamond in the Rough” that was held in Lafia.
The Vice President said, “I applaud the reforms in land administration in the state, which makes land acquisition faster and serves as encouragement to investors.
“I commend Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule for his vision and unshaken developmental zeal to rapidly industrialize the state. The State has tremendous land potentials especially in agriculture and mining that would require polishing in order to shine.
“The central billing system, dramatically boosted the IGR of the state from N12.48bn in 2020 to N20.8bn in 2022, in spite of the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic, while the State remains one of the few that saw the need to enact its own procurement act.” Said Professor Osinbajo.
Mr. Sonny Agassi said that, “NAGIS, has generated N985, 909,921.34 million between January and April this year.
“The law establishing the agency mandates it to process grants of statutory Rights of Occupancy, issuance of Certificates of Occupancy, among others.” Said Mr. Sonny Agassi.
Similarly, Governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki thank NAGIS for the support it provided for the take-off of EdoGIS and to other States being the first generation GIS technology State.
