Globacom has encouraged girls in secondary schools in Nigeria to pursue careers in the information and communications technology sector (ICT) in order to avail themselves of the limitless opportunities in the sector in Nigeria and across the world.

The company held an International Day for Girls in ICT in Lagos, an initiative of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) was held with female students drawn from various schools in Lagos and Ogun States in attendance.

In a presentation

titled

“Globacom as an equal opportunity employer and key driver in the ICT industry in Nigeria” and delivered by its Senior Manager, Human Resources Management, Mrs. Jumoke Aduwo, Glo urged the female students to prioritise the study of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) to buoy their future chances of securing careers in ICT.
