1,500 benefits from NAF medical outreach in Gombe

No fewer than 1,500 poor and vulnerable yesterday benefitted from a free medical outreach programme conducted by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) at Lawanti village of Akko Local Government Area of Gombe State and environs.

The medical outreach was sponsored through the 109 Combat Reconnaiss­ance Group (CRG), Gombe as part of the activities to commemorat­e the 58 years anniversar­y of the NAF.

Speaking at the flagging off yesterday, Commander of the new 109 CRG, Air

Commander Michael Ekwueme, said during the medical outreach, people with illnesses like malaria, diabetes, ulcer, high blood pressure, and dental and eye problems were attended to by the medical personnel.

He added that over 500 children were also dewormed during the exercise.

Represente­d by Flight Lieutenant Joseph Udoh, he said the healthcare interventi­on programme was initiated by the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Isiaka Amao, to provide free medical services to the less privileged members of their host communitie­s.
