16 ships to arrive Lagos Ports before June 5, six others waiting to berth

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) on Monday said it is expecting a total of 16 ships to arrive at the Lagos Ports by June 5, while six others are already waiting to berth.

The six ships that have arrived from different countries are loaded with petrol, bulk sugar and soya bean meal.

This is contained in NPA Daily Shipping Position, an in-house weekly bulletin.

It said another 25 ships that are currently at the ports are already dischargin­g different cargos.

They are dischargin­g fuel, bulk wheat, general cargo, container, bulk salt, bulk sugar and frozen fishes.

Other ships are also dischargin­g base oil, bulk fertilizer, steam coal and automobile gasoline, it said.

Aside from those already in the country, about 16 other ships also laden with petroleum products, food items and other goods are expected from May 23 to June 5.

The authority said that the ships are expected to arrive at the Lagos Port Complex, indicating that they are carrying frozen fish, bulk sugar, container, bulk wheat, and butane gas.
