A political group operating under the auspices of The Patriots Roundtable has said the indivisibility of the Nigerian union can be made stronger if the country is led by genuine patriots and democrat like the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

The group said it believed that the Nigerian fragile union could be made stronger, more developmental and merit worthy if Nigerians voted for the Tinubu - Shettima Ticket in the forthcoming general election.

Speaking at the first town hall meeting of The Patriots Roundtable on the topic “The Nation, the People and Patriotic Leadership: The Asiwaju Example", in Lagos at the weekend, the national coordinator of the group, Prince Uthman Shodipe-Dosunmu, said, "Nigeria now stands on the precipice of another new dawn, of a renewed hope, of another beginning, of a rebirth and a new helmsman that will steer the rudder of state."

Governor of Osun State, Adegboyega Oyetola, has described education as a veritable tool for growth, saying education will continue to be the anchor of the development agenda of the state in a quest to put it on a sound footing.

He stated this in Osogbo at the official flag off of the distribution of instructional materials and sports equipment for the use of pupils/students of public primary and Junior Secondary Schools across the

State.

Governor Oyetola at the programme which also witnessed the distribution of 10 wheelchairs for the use of pupils of Schools for Special Needs in the state was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Wole Oyebamiji.

According to him, the occasion is in furtherance of his administration's resolve to stop at nothing at giving the children of the state the best of education that will not only stand the test of time but also enable them to compete favourably with their peers anywhere in the world.

He noted with satisfaction that in the last four years, his administration had renovated many schools in addition to providing educational materials and equipment just as training and re-training of teachers to improve their performance had not been put at bay.

Oyetola, however, appealed to various stakeholders in the education sector, including parents, teachers, old students’ associations and the media to

Nigerians have been warned to be more discerning about the personalities of people that will vie and be elected for political offices in 2023, as some of them may be criminal elements and suspected kidnappers that have amassed wealth by collecting ransoms.

A university lecturer who is also a criminologist, Dr.Oludayo Tade, gave the warning at the weekend in a security summit held at the SAF Group of Schools’ Hall, Iseyin, Iseyin local government area of Oyo State.

At the summit which was a convergence of community stakeholders to discuss the lingering cases of kidnapping in Nigeria, especially within and around the community , Tade who was the guest lecturer at the summit, spoke on the topic: ‘Rising Cases of Kidnapping: Beyond Ethnic Stereotype, Mirroring Local Causes and Solutions’.

He challenged the people of Iseyin and its environs to look inward for solutions, as those perpetrating the evil act live with them.
