The Fulani in the North East geopolitical zone have endorsed the presidential candidature of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar.

Speaking at the meeting yesterday at Ribadu Square, the Fulbe North East, Musa Usman Ardo, said Atiku had an impeccable track records and capacity to lead Nigeria.

Ardo said the Fulani’s choice of Atiku was premised on his capacity and competence.

“Atiku will provide the leadership qualities the Fulbe need. The Waziri Adamawa is a detribalised leader, Nigerians need to diversify our economy,” he said.

The Fulbe ethnic group therefore asked Atiku to protect their herders and access to grazing areas and water points.

The group also endorsed the governor of Adamawa State Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri based on his ability to address the farmer-herder crisis in the state for a second term.

The group shared the traditional kola nut to seal the endorsement and asked the PDP-led administration in the state to involve Fulani youths in its empowerment programmes.

Director-general of Mai Doki Support Organisation, Sani Maiwa, has said only Garba Musa Mai Doki can save Kebbi South senatorial district from the prevailing security challenges.

Maiwa told newsmen in Abuja that his principal, who is the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the zone, was willing to bail the people out of abject poverty, misrepresentation, insecurity and unemployment, if elected as senator in 2023.

He promised that Doki would be transparent in all his doings and lamented that most villages in the zone had been ransacked by bandits with the people deserting their homes.

He noted there was no humanitarian assistance to the victims from their representatives.

Maiwa said the insecurity in the zone had turned many of the villagers into beggars and homeless because they had nobody to speak for them.

Maiwa added that the only solution to this problem is to vote for the right candidate that will speak for them.

He disclosed that Mai Doki had in the past provided several employment opportunities to the youth in Zuru Emirate and awarded scholarships to several indigenes, adding that over 130 students are currently undergoing diploma courses in computer science, courtesy of Maidoki.

“I tell you now that Mai Doki is sponsoring over 130 students to study computers in order to acquire skills in order for them to be self-reliant,” he said.

He also said, Mai Doki has given out financial grants to people to start petty business and as a grassroots mobiliser, he is always at home to listen to their demands in order to proffer solutions to them.
