Maison Mohani Makes Fashion Show Debut Today

The Minister, of Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr. (Sen.) Adeleke Olorunnimb­e Mamora has said that for Nigeria to make meaningful progress, it must provide an enabling environmen­t to support Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) sector that will unlock the enormous potential for the creation of wealth, employment opportunit­ies, and productivi­ty to engage its youths in meaningful employment.

A statement issued by the Deputy Director Press and Public Relations of the Ministry, Obed Atuora, noted that The Minister said this while delivering his keynote address at the World Science Day Celebratio­n, yesterday in Abuja.

Science, the Minister said, is the pursuit of knowledge and its applicatio­n through the process of methodolog­y based on evidence. He further stated that the relevance of Science, Technology and Innovation cannot be overemphas­ized as it is the umbrella where STEM evolves.

Speaking on the theme “Basic Science for Sustainabl­e Developmen­t” he said, it is intended to brainstorm and fashion out a strategic approach for critical activities geared towards achieving the ministry’s goal of moving the nation from resource base to knowledge based economy, driven by innovation.

The Minister stated that this will in no doubt address the problem of innovation as the missing link in the statutory responsibi­lity of the ministry which will drive the Innovation Agenda, promote productivi­ty, increase socio-economic growth and enhance national developmen­t.

Fashion house, Maison Mohani, which for years has been catering to the needs of trendy and influentia­l Nigerians will today make its first appearance in a fashion show as part of the 7th Henna Ball and Awards Night 2022 at the Internatio­nal Conference Centre, Abuja

Chief executive officer of Maison Mohani, popularly known in the fashion world as Sheikha Meera, yesterday opened on her expectatio­ns she has for her brand and target customer base going into the show.

In an earlier statement, Maimuna Abubakar, the Chief Executive of Tozali Eyeliner Magazine said the Henna Ball, is a Corporate Social Responsibi­lity initiative of the magazine.

It aims promotes African Culture and Values – Lifestyle, Entertainm­ent, Arts and Fashion, dedicated to discoverin­g, nurturing and showcasing emerging Nigerian talents in the nation’s alluring tapestry of talents.

She said, “The theme of the 7th Henna Ball & Awards Night 2022, “The Importance of Peace in National Developmen­t, is hinged on seeking vigorous solutions in communicat­ions, mediation, vigilance, tolerance and compromise towards achieving a more peaceful nation.

“Attention will also be drawn to the plight of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), with a solid commitment to utilize large proceeds of the revenue that would be generated through sponsorshi­ps of events at the 7th Henna Ball & Awards Night 2022, towards supporting IDPs across the nation.”

According to the statement, Inuwa Yahaya, Governor of Gombe State, will be the Chairman of the occasion, while the Speaker of the 8th National Assembly (House of Representa­tives), Mr. Yakubu Dogara, will be Guest Speaker, and will dwell on the topic, “The IDP Question As A Statin on North’s

Conscience”.

The 7th Henna Ball & Awards Night 2022 will also herald the Official Launch of Tozali TV on the premium DSTV platform.

Tozali TV, a lifestyle television channel that is also on the Startimes distributi­on network, Channel 183, and Canal+ Niger Republic, Channel 288, is expected to add variety to the DSTV content offerings from Northern Nigeria and among Hausa speaking communitie­s across the nation.
