Make Sure Its Clean, Dry & Empty

As a rule of thumb, make sure your recyclable material is clean enough to use again, and dry enough that it couldn’t touch a piece of paper and make it wet. Ensure that your recyclable packaging goes into the bin clean.

Recycle Nylons Separately from other wastes

Plastic bags dissolve into microplastics and potentially harm animals when they are put into landfills. Don’t loose hope when it comes to recycling nylons because organizations such as EcoBarter now collect and recycle plastic nylons into household products like shopping bags, school bags, hand bags, fabrics etc.

Reduce And Reuse Before Recycling

As part of circular economy, it saves resources and prevents material from entering landfill. You can reduce wastes you produce from your first point of contact with the product, by not buying items wrapped in plastic packaging. Rather use reusable bags or groceries paper bags. Also, you can find new uses for your old plastic containers and nylons.

Segregate Your Wet and Dry Waste

Don’t lump your wastes all together, separate them. Have separate bins for your wet (food and biological wastes), dry wastes and your nylon wastes (plastic bottles, aluminum cans, metal, glass etc.). Dry wastes always end

For those who work in newspaper houses and get on every day, or you have your paper delivered every day, you can use them as packing paper to wrap up your gift or fragile items. You can also use the old newspapers to mat up your kitchen cabinets or shelves to reduce dust.

Stop ‘WishCycling’

Educate Yourself

up in the landfills, and the wet wastes are used in composting.

Reuse Your Newspaper Sheets

Educate yourself on the three Rs – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. It is hard to know everything about recycling, but start the process first by finding out what can and cannot be recycled. Then, how to separate your recyclables, and how and where to dispose your recyclables. If you do it right, you will likely be able to exchange your wastes for either in-kind or cash value.
