Parents Teachers Association (PTA) of Federal Government College (FGC), Azare in Bauchi State has refuted a false, mischievous and ungrounded report against the principal of the school Dr Bukar Bukare, describing the report as “an effort to damage his reputation.”

In a press statement issued and signed by the chairman of the PTA, Prof. Isma’ila Shehu, he urged the Federal Ministry of Education and the general public to disregard the reports against the principal of the school Dr Bukare.

He said, “The PTA’s attention has been drawn to a fake news article published by News Net Global Online Newspaper of Thursday, November 24, 2022 with the title: 'Tension in School as Parents, Students Reject Principal Accused of Negligence in Buniyadi Massacre.”

“The paper reported that palpable tension has gripped Federal Government College (FGC) Azare, following the posting of a new principal into the school.

“Many parents and students are said to be jittery over the presence of the new helmsman they claim stirs but fear and trepidation in them”, Prof. Shehu said.

Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has warned stalwarts and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to refrain from all forms of violence against the opposition in the state.

He gave the warning during the inauguration of the APC campaign council for the forthcoming general elections.

The governor said Borno was an APC majority state adding that there was no need for anyone to fight for the party to win the general elections.

Zulum called on members of the various committees to take their responsibilities very seriously because the new reward system by way of appointments will be based on their individual contributions to the party.

He said the party leadership would improve on the reward system to its loyalists.

The state party chairman Ali Dalori praised Zulum for being a pro-development governor who has transformed the state from its ruins.

Dalori called on members to remain loyal at all times to the party hierarchy so that they can in one accord win the elections hands down.

The main campaign council made up of 100 members is chaired by Zulum while the Borno Central senatorial candidate of the APC, Barrister Kaka Shehu Lawan is the secretary.
