Humanitarian Ministry Donates Sports Kits To NGO
The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has donated sports kits to Young Ambassadors Against Drug Abuse Initiative and Street Children Parliament.
Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development Sadiya Umar Farouq while speaking during the donations said the gesture was in line with promoting the humanitarian ministry mandate.
She noted that it was also part of efforts to support the non governmental organisation in its drive to engage the girl child in sports.
Represented by the sports manager in the Ministry, Kazeem Adenekan, she said by engaging in sports activities, the productivity of the girl child will be high.

Emmanuel Ojeabulu, winner of the 61st FirstBank Lagos Open Golf Championship has been listed in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR).
The premier golf championship which was held from November 18 to 20, 2022 at the golf section of Ikoyi Club 1938 was keenly contested by in building healthy relationships among children.
She further said that the donation is meant to catch the girl child young and put them off the street.
The minister pledged that the Ministry will continue to support girl-child as well as vulnerable persons.
On her part, the country coordinator, Young Ambassadors Against Drug Abuse Initiative and Street Children Parliament, Hajia Khaleel Zaraih, lauded the donation.
In the same vein, the head, Special Duties in the Ministry, Madam Nadia Soso Muhammed, expressed the willingness of the Ministry to continue to partner with the organization in promoting the cause of the girl child.
The high point of the event was the handing over of the tracksuits, vests, and canvass by the sports manager in the Ministry Kazeem Adenekan, to the coordinator of the NGO. over 190 low handicap players from several golf clubs in the country. Benin based Emmanuel Ojeabulu won the 3-day championship.
Playing three-shots off the pace going into the last 18-holes, Ojeabulu played one of the best golf of his life, maintaining steady pars for a closing 74, 3-over the course par to win the World Amateur Golf Ranking recognized event by two shots.
Ojeabulu started his game with an opening 75, a second day score of 78 and a closing 74 to replace Ilorin based Aminu Kadir, the tournament defending champion on the winners list.
