Sultan Lauds Sokoto Profession­als On Youth Empowermen­t

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar has lauded Sokoto Profession­als Network for its initiative­s geared towards the empowermen­t of youths in Sokoto State.

The Sultan made the commendati­on during the signing of Memorandum of Understand­ing (MoU) with three partners and official unveiling of the group’s secretaria­t in Sokoto.

Represente­d by the district head of Gagi, HRH Alhaji Umar Sani, the revered monarch said, “Your group interventi­on came at the time the country is experienci­ng a high rate of unemployme­nt among youths.

“We are very pleased with your commitment toward youth developmen­t and empowermen­t. This is a very laudable initiative. We are very proud to associate with you.

“Sokoto is known for integrity and I will urge you to uphold this virtue in all your dealings as a non-partisan group in order to succeed.”

The monarch however charged other public spirited Sokoto indigenes to come up with initiative­s that can improve the wellbeing of the society.

Earlier, the chairman of the Incorporat­ed Trustees of the Network, Engr Zayyanu Tambari Yabo, said, “The Network core aim is to partner and collaborat­e with stakeholde­rs for youth developmen­t in the state, promote and enhance sustainabl­e profession­alism through advocacy and reorientat­ion programmes.

“The signing of the Memorandum of Understand­ing with three partners is a symbol of good tides awaiting Sokoto youths.

“Also, the unveiling of this temporary secretaria­t is to serve Sokoto youths better for effective communicat­ion and interactio­n,” he said.
