APC WINS
O SUN GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION:
The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Governor Rauf Aregbesola, last night, won the Osun State Governorship election in at least 23 local governments out of the 30 local governments in the state, to beat the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Senator Iyiola Omisore. Results from polling units have indicated that the election was keenly contested. Though the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had not officially declared the result as at press time, those collated by our reporters in Osun State indicated the APC had won in 23 Local Government Areas, while results from areas considered to be the stronghold of Senator Omisore, indicated that the PDP candidate led in at least four local governments.

We inform Nigerians and the good people of Osun State that the PDP is leading based on results collated so far and any concerted results has no basis in facts and legality. We await the official results from the electoral commission and we are convinced that the final results will confirm the electoral victory of Senator Iyiola Omisore.”
In spite of the PDP’s position, results collated by our reporters in Osun State indicated that, in IlaOrangun, the home of the former chairman of APC, Chief Bisi Akande the party cleared all the units, with the PDP trailing behind. In Omomoyaki (Unit 1), APC had 96 to PDP’s 77, Olukori APC got 84 votes while PDP scored 82. APC again led in Oke-Ede with 605 to PDP’s 34. APC won Obajoko polling unit with 123 against PDP’s 50 votes, even as it swept 182 votes in Elemore polling unit while PDP settled for just 74 votes.
In Isedo, Units 1,2 and 3, APC won 160, 126 and 54 votes respectively, while PDP got 23, 53 and 22 in the same vein.
Meanwhile, results received from Akarabata Ward (12 polling booths) in Ife Central local government Area, shows that PDP won a total 1,112 votes while APC got 486 votes.
Sunday Trust gathered that APC was leading the pack in Oshogbo while PDP takes the lead in Ife.
In Osogbo, the state capital, APC won in most of the wards and units, one of the major cities that determines who wins a gubernatorial election in Osun State.
In Fagbesa street (Unit 013) of Osogbo local government, APC won with 253 votes to PDP’s 75.
Also, APC cleared 217 votes in Fagbewesa/Ataoja ‘D’/ Osogbo (Unit 014) against PDP’s 70.
In Polling unit 16, Ward 4 in Fagbewesa, APC scored 133 while PDP got 42 votes. In Units 12 and 21of the same ward, APC scored 210 and 139 against PDP’s 78 and 46 respectively.
In Ago Igbira unit 1 Osogbo, where the Minister of State for Defence voted, APC scored 89 and PDP recored 89 votes.
Besides, APC swept 236 votes at Ward 12, Jagun (Unit 001), opposite Catholic Church of the same local government.
Results received from Olorunda Local Government, Ward 12 (Unit 3) shows that APC scored 271 while PDP got 94 votes.
Also, in Ward 2 (Units 5 and 9) of the same local government, APC scooped 216 and 228 respectively while PDP earned 94 and 127 in the same manner.
In Ward 4, Unit 10, Alajue area, Ede South Local Government, APC got 188 votes while PDP won 92.
However, in Odo Otin Local Government Area, Ward 1 (Unit 3) where former PDP National Secretary, Olagusoye Oyinlola, voted, PDP swept 125 votes against APC’s 61.
Also, in Ward 4 (Unit 2), Temidire Primary School, Ibodi, Atakunmosha Local Government Area of the State where former Minister of State of Defence, Olusola Obada voted, PDP scored 166 while APC had 101.
In Imesi Ile, APC got 90, PDP 52, in Ojigbo unit. In Ile Local government Authority School: APC 35, PDP 32, Ijana unit; APC 95, PDP 91, Ajedo; APC 131, PDP 93.
The APC also cleared most votes in Esa Oke in Obokun Local Government Area of the state.
APC recorded 128 votes against PDP’s 121 in Esa Oke Town Hall, even as it scored 149 against PDP’s 69 in Esa-Oke Grammar School. In St. Joseph Secondary School, APC got 154 against PDP’s 74. It also won with 348 over 146 votes of the PDP in United Primary School polling unit. APC got 137, 222 and 118 against PDP’s 97, 87 and 63 in Ido, Oja Oko and Agric settlement polling units respectively.
Also in St Peter Primary School, APC got 151votes while PDP scored 108. Also, APC led with 252 against PDP’s 124 in Tafia farm.
In African Primary School, Local Government School 11 and African Church, APC cleared 164, 109 and 91 against PDP’s 139, 16 and 65 respectively.
More so, APC is far ahead of PDP in Irewole Local Government as it won AUD School (Unit 3) in Ikire; 140 against PDP’s 105. It also won in Unit 2 of the same venue; 143 to PDP’s 94.
In Ikire, Ward 9 (unit 7 and 8), APC got 174 and 109 against 121 and 57 of PDP respectively.
Ward 6, unit 2 in Olorunda local government, PDP 100, APC 444, unit 4 PDP 70, APC 278, unit 6 PDP 45 APC 259, unit 5, APC 316, PDP 68, Unit 1, PDP 51, APC 274, unit 9, PDP 56, APC 321, unit 3, PDP 59, APC 303, unit 8, PDP 70, APC 278, unit 7, PDP 128, APC 381. The local government housed the deputy governor of the state, Grace Titilayo Tomori.
