Kano to hold LG polls February 10

Kano State is to hold local government elections on February 10, 2018, Chairman of the state Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC), Professor Garba Ibrahim Sheka has said.

Professor Sheka told journalists in Kano that the commission had already released election time table.

Sheka, who was recently appointed chairman of the commission, said sensitisation visit and publicity campaign to the 44 local government areas of the state would hold between November 13th and December 25th 2017.

“Distribution of electoral guidelines and notification of polling centres will take effect on November 17 and end on December 1, 2017. Sale of nomination forms will commence on December 1st and end on the 22nd, while submission of all completed forms should be done on or before December 27th,” he said.

The chairman assured that the commission would do everything possible to ensure a hitch-free exercise.
