IPCR, Pencraft Books partner

- Abdullateef Salau

The Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR) has gone into partnership with Pencraft Books for a nationwide campaign for peace and national unity.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the project was signed at the Institute in Abuja by the Director General of IPCR, Professor Oshita Oshita and Publisher of Pencraft Books, Mr. Valentine Opaluwa Ejeh.

Pencraft Books have been involved in researches on violent conflicts and wars and therefore found a worthy partner in the IPCR towards propagating the ideals of peaceful coexistence in order to reverse the state of the spate of violence and tensions being aggravated by political and ethno-religious sentiments.

The campaign is expected to douse the inclination to the religious, political and regional sentiments that have continued to tear us apart as people of one indivisible country.

The campaign is also expected to discourage emphases on all fault-lines, and at the same time encourage our shared common humanity and value for national interest.

IPCR and Pencraft Books would visit communities prone to violence to engage parties in mediation and dialogue for peaceful tolerance.

Within the next few weeks, the planning committee which would be inaugurated by the IPCR Director General, would reach out to other partners and engage stakeholders in all states of the federation to kick start the campaign. coexistence and
