Nadal denies Roger Federer shot at world number one

Rafael Nadal ensured he will finish the 2018 Wimbledon Championships as world number one with a straightsets victory over Alex De Minaur. Spanish legend Nadal began the tournament at the top of the rankings but could have relinquished the spot to Federer had he exited before the fourth round.

Nadal defeated Dudi Sela and Mikhail Kukushkin in the opening two rounds before dispatching De Minaur 6-1 6-2 6-4 on Centre Court today to progress into week two of Wimbledon.
