Owoyemi, Abuja
Well, what is your blood sugar level? Are you on any medication? I will suggest you see a Urologist for proper assessment and management.
HOW LONG CAN IUCD STAY?
Good day Doctor, for how long can IUD can stay in a woman and if it stays long what is the implication? Lydia
The duration of IUCD depends on the type and hormonal contents. It varies from five to ten uears.
It’s advisable to do regular check ups and remove it as soon as it’s due for removal. If it over stays the strings may get detached and become missing IUCD.
NORMAL DELIVERY AFTER LAPAROTOMY?
I have had two operation now, one was when I was in secondary school for appendix. The second was four years ago called exploratory laparotomy for swollen stomach. Now I am five months pregnant. Is it true I have to be operated again? Jane
The operation you had were not gynaecological or for obstetric reasons. They do not directly affect the decision for mode of delivery. Provided there is no obstetrical indication, then spontaneous vaginal delivery would be preferred.
In fact I will advise that unless there is absolute indication for Caesarean section, one should avoid it in this scenario. This is because there are likely to be adhesions. In case there is indication for Caesarean section then it should be done by an obstetrician preferably where there is back up general surgeon.
SMALL MANHOOD
Good morning doctor. I am twenty years old. I am having a big problem, my manhood is not growing at all, It looks like that of a five year old, please help me sir. Hussain
Well when flaccid it can appear unusually small. So first, see your family physician for proper assessment. Also even if it’s small it does not stop the attainment of its two main functions including procreation and sexual satisfaction.
WHAT DO I DO?
Good day sir. My scan result shows my womb is glued and the doctor said they will insert something in my private parts that will make my menses to flow because it has not flowed for seven years now. Please, what do I do? Aisha, Kaduna
How old are you? Was the onset preceded by dilatation and curretage or any form of instrumentation? You need to do hormonal assay first to rule out premature ovarian failure. In addition, hysterosalpingogram will help in the diagnosis.
If Asherman’s syndrome is confirmed, the best option is hysteroscopic Adhesiolysis which gives a direct view. But since is not widely available here you can see your Gynaecologist for blind Adhesiolysis which also yield fairly good result too.
