BLEEDING FOR THE LAST TWO MONTHS

Sunday Trust - - TAMBARI BEAUTY -

I have been bleeding for the last two months. What can I do? Fatima Salisu, Kaduna

First I will like to make appeal to those who send in questions to give fairly adequate details that will help in giving more specific advice. For example, I will like to know your age, how many children, has your menses been regular before?

Possible problem will include pregnancy related issues, in this case pregnancy test and ultrasound scan will help. Hormonal imbalance could also be a cause and the use of progestogen or Contraceptive pills can play a role. Uterine fibroid especially fibroid polyps is another possibility.

If you are forty years and above you may need to do endometrial sampling and if necccesay cervical biopsy to rule out genital tract malignancies. I will suggest you see a Gynaecologist as soon as possible for a comprehensive assessment and management.
