FG meets labour today, to avert strike

Sunday Trust - - NEWS - By Mustapha Suleiman

The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, has said a conciliatory meeting with the tripartite committee has been fixed for today.

Speaking in an interview in Abuja, the Minister said a similar meeting was called on Thursday, but Labour failed to turn up on the excuse that it was having meetings in Lagos.

Ngige assured Nigerians that government would do everything possible to avert the Organised Labour strike scheduled for November 6.

He, however, expressed worry that the Nigerian Governors Forum couldn’t raise their N 22, 500, proposal to the federal government’s N24,000.
