Emir of Jama’a cel­e­brates 20 years on throne

Spe­cial prayers as Emir of Jama’a, Al­haji Muham­mad Isa Muham­mad II cel­e­brated 20 years on the throne.

Kafan­chan, Jema’a Lo­cal Gov­ern­ment head­quar­ters of Kaduna State, re­cently came alive as the Emir of Jama’a, Al­haji (Dr.) Muham­mad Isa Muham­mad II cel­e­brated his 20th year an­niver­sary on the throne with spe­cial prayers.

The 11th emir was in­stalled on the Novem­ber 23, 1998 by the then mil­i­tary Gover­nor of the state, Col. Umar Farouk Ahmed (rtd).

Many sons and daugh­ters of the Emi­rate thronged the emir’s palace to wit­ness the event, first of its kind, since his as­cen­sion to the throne.

Tra­di­tional ti­tle hold­ers of Jama’a from far and near also graced the oc­ca­sion. They ap­peared in splen­did tra­di­tional at­tires for the event. In at­ten­dance were Dis­trict, Vil­lage and Ward Heads, Imams, rep­re­sen­ta­tives of Chris­tians As­so­ci­a­tion of Nige­ria, (CAN) and Jama’atu Nas­ril Is­lam, (JNI) Jema’a Lo­cal Gov­ern­ment Chap­ter among oth­ers. Also at the oc­ca­sion were chiefs of other eth­nic groups, mar­ket and youths or­ga­ni­za­tions.

It also an oc­ca­sion for the palace singers, Makadan Taushi, to show­case their dex­ter­ity as they en­ter­tained with tra­di­tional drums and flutes.

The Chair­man, Jema’a Lo­cal Gov­ern­ment Area Coun­cil, Peter Dan­juma Av­er­ick con­grat­u­lated the Emir and promised the Emi­rate and all the chief­doms in lo­cal gov­ern­ment to work to­gether to move the area for­ward.

The Emir, af­ter the prayers, thanked Al­lah for grant­ing him suc­cess­ful and fruit­ful years in his reign and called on the gover­nor for more struc­tural devel­op­ment in the area.

The Chief Imam of Jama’a Cen­tral Mosque, Kafan­chan, Al­haji Adamu Tahir, who led the spe­cial prayers thanked Al­lah for al­low­ing the reign of Emir Muham­mad Isa Muham­mad to wit­ness tremen­dous devel­op­ment.

Also, the Chief Deputy Imam of the Cen­tral Mosque, Al­haji Muham­mad Kabir Qas­sim de­scribed the Emir as the leader who brings peo­ple to­gether to ensure peace and progress con­tinue among them, re­gard­less of their tribe or re­li­gion.

The CAN rep­re­sen­ta­tive, Da­gachi Dan­tata Adamu con­grat­u­lated the Emir on be­half of the As­so­ci­a­tion and called on the peo­ple to emu­late the leader as a bridge builder.

The Sec­re­tary Gen­eral, South­ern Kaduna Chris­tians Lead­ers As­so­ci­a­tion, Apos­tle Em­manuel Bako, of GoodNews Power Base Church, Kafan­chan de­scribed the Emir as a per­son who ac­tu­ally yearns for peace.

Right Rev­erend Markus Dogo of Angli­can Sem­i­nary, Kafan­chan, de­scribed the Emir as, “God fear­ing, peace lov­ing and very hum­ble per­son. I have strong re­spect for him.”

Speak­ing on be­half of tra­di­tional ti­tle hold­ers of the Emi­rate, Wam­ban Jama’a, Al­haji Abdu Has­san con­grat­u­lated the Emir and promised to con­tinue sup­port­ing the emi­rate for greater achieve­ment.
