Buhari In­au­gu­rates Cam­paign Coun­cil To­mor­row

Pres­i­dent Muham­madu Buhari will on Mon­day in­au­gu­rate his Pres­i­den­tial Cam­paign Coun­cil for the 2019 Gen­eral Elec­tions.

The event, ac­cord­ing to the spokesper­son of the coun­cil, Fes­tus Keyamo, would be held in Abuja.

He said those ex­pected at the cer­e­mony are mem­bers ear­lier an­nounced as mem­bers of the APC Pres­i­den­tial Cam­paign Coun­cil.

The coun­cil is chaired by Pres­i­dent Buhari while a na­tional leader of the APC, Bola Tin­ubu will serve as the co-chair­man. The Vice Pres­i­dent, Prof Yemi Os­in­bajo and the APC Na­tional Chair­man, Com­rade Adams Osh­iomole are to serve as the deputy chair­men.

A for­mer gover­nor of Benue State, Sen­a­tor Ge­orge Akume and a for­mer Se­nate Pres­i­dent, Sen­a­tor Ken Nna­mani are to serve as Vice Chair­men, North and South re­spec­tively.

Min­is­ter of Trans­porta­tion Ro­timi Amaechi who was Direc­tor Gen­eral of Buhari’s cam­paign coun­cil in 2015 re­tained his po­si­tion.

The duo of Sen­a­tor Olorun­nimbe Mamora and Arch Waziri Bu­lama would serve as the Deputy Direc­tor Gen­eral (op­er­a­tions) and Deputy Direc­tor Gen­eral (Co­or­di­na­tion) re­spec­tively.

It was gath­ered that af­ter the in­au­gu­ra­tion, the Pres­i­dent would em­bark on a rig­or­ous cam­paign in the six geopo­lit­i­cal zones of the coun­try.

Re­call that the Pres­i­dent had penul­ti­mate Fri­day flagged off his cam­paign in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. Also, last Thurs­day, the Pres­i­dent in­au­gu­rated a 700-mem­ber women and youth cam­paign team chaired by his wife, Aisha.
