Lagos -- The president of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, Elder Chinedu Okoronkwo, has reiterated the need for the unity of the association, which came out of years of leadership tussle and divisions not long ago.

Okoronkwo made this known as he applauded the association

for ensuring that all stakeholders were brought together to ensure unity in the Western Zone of the association.

The zone recently witnessed a successful inauguration of an interim executive committee charged with administering the activities of the association in the zone pending an election to pick substantive leaders.

“Some of us were concerned due to divisions in IPMAN. People have taken advantage of the division in our association. You may find it difficult to negotiate the welfare of your members when divided.

"It is important to remain united and focus going forward. I urge other members to key into this unity all across the nation,” he said.

Okoronkwo argued that “anyone that tells you there is a faction is lying and the present government of IPMAN has come on board.” He urged that the new committee in the Western Zone be given support to succeed, stressing: "No one is perfect. No government is perfect but is with its own challenges”.
