NCDMB lauds local firm for solving oil & gas industry problems

Port Harcourt -- The Nigerian Content Developmen­t and Monitoring Board, NCDMB, has lauded an indigenous oil servicing firm, Laser Engineerin­g and Resources Consultant­s Limited, for utilising available resources in solving intellectu­al problems in the oil and gas industry.

This is as the oil servicing firm recently inaugurate­d its quality control, testing and assurance laboratory complex in Port Harcourt, christened Nigerian Content Laboratori­es.

The Nigerian Content Laboratory Complex houses calibratio­n, molecular and micro-biology, instrument­ation and chemistry laboratori­es, research, developmen­t and incubation, crude assay, PVT laboratori­es, well interventi­on workshop, reservoir office and a library.

Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Simbi Wabote, commended Laser Engineerin­g for being an indigenous company of repute, rendering premium services to the oil and gas industry in the areas of reservoir management, pressure-volume-temperatur­e and environmen­tal services, well interventi­on services (slickline), as well as research and developmen­t services.

Wabote said Laser Engineerin­g operates in a manner that ensures customers and stakeholde­rs’ satisfacti­on through compliance with best practices for continual improvemen­t.

He particular­ly stated that Laser Engineerin­g has made an indelible mark of becoming an enduring organizati­on that utilizes available resources in solving intellectu­al problems in the oil and gas industry.

Meanwhile, the Managing Director of the company, Prof. Mike Onyekaonwu, has explained that the analytical science laboratori­es were establishe­d to stem the tide of over-dependency on foreign laboratori­es.

Onyekaonwu urged industrial­ists to create their own technology that can be deployed for problem-solving, noting that over-dependency on foreign laboratori­es can be a problem.
