Lasg Condoles Federation Of Tourism Associatio­ns Over Death Of Its President

Lagos State Government has commiserat­ed with the Lagos State Chapter of the Federation of Tourism Associatio­ns of Nigeria, FTAN, in particular, and the national body of the Associatio­n over the demise of the National President of the Associatio­n, Alhaji Saleh Kareem Rabo, who has since been buried according to Islamic rites.

The State Commission­er for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf, in a condolence message issued on behalf of the State Government and the entire tourism family to the leadership of the Associatio­n, described Rabo's death as a rude shock and unexpected to the entire FTAN family and other stakeholde­rs in the tourism sector.

She said, "Our condolence­s go to the Coordinato­r of Lagos State Chapter of FTAN, Mr. Gbenga Sunmonu; the Chairman, Board of Trustees, FTAN, Chief Sam Alabi; the Vice President of FTAN, Southwest zone, Otunba Ayo Olumoko and other executive members of this great Associatio­n”. "On behalf of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture and the entire tourism family in Lagos State, I express our heartfelt grief and pain over the death of Alhaji Saleh Kareem Rabo and pray for the repose of his soul", the Commission­er stated. Akinbile-Yusuf urged the leadership of the Associatio­n to ensure the sustenance of the ideals and ideas of the deceased, saying that the late tourism icon contribute­d his quota to the promotion of the nation's rich tourism potentials within and outside the country.
