The Hospital Projects At Enugwu Ukwu Gen. Hospital

- By Enitan Thompson

Nigeria - Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr Nkem Okeke has assured Ndi Anambra of commitment toward ensuring speedy completion of a gigantic hospital building at the Enugwu Ukwu General Hospital. During the inspection visit to facility, Dr Okeke expressed satisfaction at the level of work so far carried out at the site.

He noted that the building would be the best if its kind as it would house many offices, labs, theatre and wards.

Dr Okeke said that the building was one of the legacy projects of the Government and prayed that it would be completed before the end of their tenure.

He also noted that work was nearing completion at the mortuary building that was burnt sometime in the past, so that people could make use of the mortuary in preserving the dead bodies of their loved ones.

Chief Medical Director, Enugwu Ukwu General Hospital, Dr. Uchenna Okeke described the gigantic building as the best in the whole of the South East region.

While appreciating the Government for making the health sector and lives of Ndi Anambra his number one priority, Dr. Okeke pleaded that the hospital still needs mammography, placing more emphasis on cancer screening, breast and cervical screening for early detections of the killer disease.

The contractor handling the project, Mr Emeka Nwandu re-assured that the project would be completed soon as it is one of the priorities of the Obiano administration.

Mr Nwandu said the building which covered about 2000sq meters would give the hospital a facelift when completed.
