Uga Professors Give Intensive Academic Lessons, Career Talks To Students In Uga, Aguata Council Area

About seventy students in senior secondary one and two in public and private schools in Uga, Aguata Local Government Area, have been exposed to intensive academic lessons and career talks, courtesy of Uga Professors, on behalf of Uga Improvemen­t Union. The closing ceremony of the month-long event tagged “Uga Professors’ Vacation” was held at Uga Boys Secondary School, Uga, with members of Uga Professors, including Professors Christian Ezeigbo, a retired Surveyor, Akachi Adimora-Ezeigbo, an award winning author with English and Literary Studies Department, Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu Alike, Ebonyi State, Chinyere Okunna, first West-African female Professor of Mass Communicat­ion with Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, among other academic gurus in attendance. Declaring the event open, the Chairman of the occasion, Chief Godwin Okolo, said the Uga Professors’ Vacation, which started in 2013, has enabled students, irrespecti­ve of places of origin, get necessary exposition­s that help equip them for academic excellence, noting that with quality education, the young ones can develop talents, turn away from crime and social vices, as well as contribute more to the developmen­t of the society.
