NYSC Corp member who gave birth in Camp

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC)Director-General, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim has rejoiced with a Prospectiv­e Corps Member (PCM) Ramatu Yunusa, who gave birth to a baby boy after registerin­g as a member of the 2021 Batch ‘B’ Stream II service corps in Bayelsa State, Southern Nigeria. The DirectorGe­neral while speaking at the Bayelsa State Referral Hospital , Kaiama, about ten-minutes drive from the NYSC Orientatio­n Camp, expressed delight at the safe birth of the baby. This is contained in a statement by the Director, Press and Public Relations of the organizati­on, Mrs Adenike Adeyemi. According to her, Ibrahim announced that the Scheme would pay the medical bills incurred by the PCM and her baby. Briefing the Director-General, the NYSC Bayelsa State Coordinato­r Mrs. Ojugo Elizabeth said Ramatu was conveyed to the hospital as soon as she started showing signs of labour, adding that she gave birth to her child at the hospital safely. Hospital personnel that attended to the PCM, included a Corps Medical Doctor, Mbanusi Chiebonam Clara, who confirmed that both mother and baby were in good condition. Speaking during the visit, Ramatu and her husband, Liman Aliyu Suleiman, both expressed appreciati­on for the support given to the family by the NYSC Management.
