Nwafor Okoye Buried At Ojoto, Idemili South Council Area

The remains of the late Chief Nwafor Okoye of Iruebenebe Village Ojoto in Idemili South Local Government Area have been rest to rest. The Late Chief Nwafor Okoye who died at the age of one hundred and two was a devout Christian. In a sermon during the

funeral service the vicar of Saint Barnabas Anglican Church Ojoto, Reverend Cannon Theophilus Okoye called on Christians to always be prepared for death, describing the deceased as a Godly man who trained his children in the same way. He called on the children to always follow the legacies their late father left behind. Speaking to the ABS later in their separate interviews, three of his sons, Augustine Godwin and Uzochukwu Okoye extolled their late father for his sterling legacies describing him as a good man who believed in the truth and promised not to depart from doing good to others. Daughters of the deceased Mrs. Caroline Okonkwo, Mrs. Augustina Animalu and Ozioma Okoye stated that their father was known for his faithfulness, wisdom, caring and tolerance regretting that they will miss his fatherly advice. Commiserate with the family, the Parish Priest of Saint Paul’s Catholic Church Ojoto Very Reverend Father Patrick Ezeifidi, described the deceased as an honest man and called on the children to follow his footsteps in order to achieve greatness. In their separate Speeches two of his Sons in-law, Chief Chukwudubem Animalu and Mr. Anthony Okoye say that the Life of Chief Okoye was characterized with honesty, humility and love adding that he never discriminated among his children and promised to keep his legacies-alive. Condolence by in-laws, friends and sympathizers as well as cultural displays, added colour to the ceremony.
