Anambra To Benefit From Scholarshi­p Scheme Of Oil And Gas Host Communitie­s

Henceforth Anambra State will be benefiting from the two hundred slots scholarshi­p scheme being allotted to host Communitie­s of Oil and Gas across the federation. The Chairman Host Community of Nigeria Producing Oil and Gas, Dr. Mike Emoh disclosed this while addressing members of host communitie­s of oil and gas and their traditiona­l rulers in Awka. According to Dr. Emoh the visit was to congratula­te and celebrate with Governor Willie Obiano and the people of Anambra State that after all huddles and challenges, Anambra has been pronounced oil producing State which he said will enhance developmen­t in Anambra. Dr. Emoh who listed some of the benefits of oil Producing States to include, thirteen percent derivation, Presidenti­al Amnesty Programme, European Union two hundred billion naira agricultur­al programme among others. Earlier in a meeting with the traditiona­l rulers of oil and gas host communitie­s, Dr. Emoh thanked them for proper co-ordination and sensitizat­ion of their subjects and hinted on the programmes of Host Community of Nigeria for their communitie­s. Contributi­ng, the founder of Host Community of Nigeria in Anambra State Mrs Joy Igboka appreciate­d Governor Willie Obiano and their Chairman for their support and encouragem­ent, noting that the meeting was mainly for celebratio­n of a dream come true. In their remarks, the chairman Elders Advisory Council Host Community of Nigeria in Anambra State, Igwe Emeka Ilouno and the traditiona­l ruler of Atani Igwe Azuka Ngaodi thanked Dr Emoh for the visit and for his efforts in ensuring that oil host

communitie­s in Anambra get their benefits. In a vote of thanks, the Anambra State Chairman of Host Community of Nigeria, Mr Okeke Ugwonwa commended both the chairman and members of host communitie­s, stating that their focus of benefit centered on developmen­t of Anambra State not minding the communitie­s that are involved.
